Summer Sessions

Hello all,

The Summer is well under way and things have definitely gotten better since the last update. The check for the Harley came through as they did total it out. I am still waiting on the boat but the loner is serving it’s purpose in the meantime. The beauty of the whole situation is we really haven’t lost any clinic days.

On the last update I believe we were on route to Peublo,CO. Home of Rocky Mountain Boat Company. Aka RoMoBoCo. It’s a long drive from OK City, but always worth the trip. Bill Campbell somehow pulls off an extremely organized and successful clinic year after year. We showed up on the afternoon of the 7th to start clinics on the 8th. The water was a little a chilly 59 degrees, but that didn’t stop all those tough Colorado riders. We were booked solid all day the 8th we had a few on the 9th and booked solid again on the 10th. This is always a great stop to move product. It seems this area isn’t feeling the same effect to the economy as the rest of the country.

RoMoBoCo 012.JPGThere dealership is running wide open and they are moving product as if things were normal. We demo’d quite a bit of CWB product and had some interest in the new Monster board racks. I’m really glad we added these new racks to the Supra since not many people have seen them yet. They are very functional and easy to attract people’s interest. I’ve also been making sure our dealers have all the current info and brochers on everyone in hopes things will start flying off the shelves. No Fear product has been moving well as it always does. We have been moving Boardshorts well and everyone has been consistant on getting Tee Shirts.

On the 11th Chad and I decided to Pikes Peak as Larry (Owner of RoMoBoCo) lent us his truck for the day. We could only drive to the 13 mile mark of the 19 mile trail, as there was a blizzard going on up there. It was still cool to drive up to 12,000 plus feet of the 14,000 foot mountain. 09 Days off Pikes Peak (21).JPGLarry has been a long time Race Car driver, in the past he has done the annual Pikes Peak race. If you don’t know about this you need to You Tube it. It is an amazingly hairy race with switchbacks and crazy fast 09 Days off Pikes Peak (20).JPGdriving on sketchy roads to say the least. Larry has drivin the mountain in an unbelievable 12 minutes!
There are some great Photo’s on the website under 09 Colorado days off.
On the 12th Chad and I did our annual White Water rafting trip with River Runners in the Royal Gorge. This was the first year Chad was allowed to go into the faster running waters as he was always to young in the past.

We needed to be at one of our new dealers in Loveland, CO. on the 14th to run clinics on the 15th and 16th.  Since we still had one more day off on the 13th we decided to take in some sights that were recommended from one of the guys on our boat during the run down the Gorge. We drove across the Rocky Mountain National Park, from Estes Park to Grand Lake. This also was amazing and something I’ve never done.It boasts 10 miles of paved roadway over 12,000 feet. Again we got some amazing photos that are on the website.

We drove into Loveland on the morning of the 14th Sunday. We met up with Dan & Celeste. Dan is the son of Tom Smith, founder of Colorado Boat Center. They were going out for a day on the boat and invited us to join them. There we met up with his Sister Ashley who also works for Colorado Boat Center. They have been in the run about business manly with Glasstron for the past 30 years. They have ventured into the Inboard industry just recently carrying MB and this year taking on Skiers Choice product. They have a great location directly off I-25 and extremely visable. Unfortunately they have had someone breaking in 2 weeks before I arrived and again while I was there. They have all their boats behind a locked fence and each Boatmate trailer is pad locked. This is a lot more security than I see at most dealerships. For some reason the perps are targeting Skiers Choice product over anything else. See, they really are the hottest boats and trailers on the market.

Extreme Power Sports 013.JPGUnfortunately they didn’t have a huge response for the clinics but they made the most out of me being there and we taught them a ton of new stuff on the water. I also spent some time in there Pro Shop with proper board set up and key ideas that I had in making a successful shop.
All in all it was a very successful stop for the education they feel the received both on and off the water. I really enjoyed them and believe there dealership will thrive with the family atmosphere they have and incredible down to earth personalities. On the night of the 16th after a long afternoon of fixing the living room Slide out of the Bus. We started our long journy to Extreme Power Sports in Greenville, IL.

Normally we stop half way at Xtreme Marine in Kansas City. But their dealership has shut down. So we made the 15 hour jaunt back to the Mississippi.
Greenville is located about 45 minutes east of St. Louis. We pulled up on the afternoon of the 18th to a warm welcome from Rick, Dan, Steve & Kyle. This was my 8th year stopping for clinics with them. The first thing I did after arriving was dove into an Oil change for the Supra. And then tackled the 15 hours of diesel fuel off the front of the boat. We had a full day booked on the 19th with a little lighter day on the 20th. We again demo’d much of our CWB equipment and generated a few sales. No Fear product again moved well and had more interest in the Monster Board Racks.

Extreme Power Sports 100.JPGThis is always a fun stop since we’ve all become such good friends over the years. The Private Lake is such a fun playground and we all get to act as if we are 15. I did my annual Slalom run and of course lots of Wakeboard exhibitions and even a Barefoot exhibition. Then I cooked my annual pasta fest. And broke out the Guitar for our nightly sing along. This is a place I can handle the loss of the Harley because it’s rare that we want to leave the property. On the 21st, Fathers Day, we did it all again. Ski’d, Rode, and Footed.

We left on the 22nd and headed North to B&B Sports in Delhi, IA. Our clinics were booked solid all day on the 23rd.  We sold 2 CWB boards for B&B and everyone bought No Fear Shorts and Tees. A quick personal note to Tony Williams.
B&B Sports 031.JPGIf you can follow up with each Dealer so far, They have all seen the new Board racks and evferyone love’s them. I’ve also been pushing the Bimini. So strike while the Irons hot and get those dealers ordering some stuff.

Today is the 24th. Only 2 shopping days left for my Birthday, So get on it. I’ve got one make up lesson to do and then we will start packing up to head to Forest Lake. I pick up Geanie tomorrow night and she will stay for 10 day’s. I’m ready for her therapudic hands after beating the hell out of myself on Fathers Day.

Until next time,
Briscoe
