Summer Sessions

Hello all,

Old RigHere we go again, Year #7 of Briscoe’s Summer Sessions, Holy crap, has it been that long since the “Scooby Doo Van”. This year has seen a few changes. First major change was the loss of Roswell Wake Air. Robert and Marc will be greatly missed. We separated simply due to misfortune they had last year with their tour bus and a large dollar loss of merchandise.
We split on good terms and I wish them the best in their future endeavors.

New RigAnother change was with Tri-Star distributing which pushed Kenwood in the past. They have since shifted gears and changed product line. We were in negotiations but ended up with, which I believe was the better choice,

After many conversations with President Tony Williams, I decided this would be the best replacement to cover Roswell and Tri-Star.
But the true cinch that made the deal was the product. After extensive research I found many things about their product that I fell in love with. Simple things like the way Monster Tower Bimmini pins release to access the top. I like these way better than the Z-5. The board racks have a simple rubber wedge system that will keep the board from flying off if you forget to hook up the bungee's, And the Wet Sounds stuff… All I can say is WOW.
Between the Volume Control device that changes volume from high to low as the boat accelerates and decelerates. To the Microphone I have that amplifies my voice!  Scary huh?   I’ll keep it professional don’t worry boys.

We will also be acting as Reps helping set up dealers with everyone out there interested.

Jared DialSince I broke the ice with “WE” I have a new prodigy traveling on the tour. His Name is Jared Dial. (Maybe I’m working him to hard)  He has been a student of mine for the last 2 years in Florida. He worked for me this winter by staying at the “House Of Pain” which is the name of the house that I board my wakeboarding students all winter. Jared ran the house, kept the students fed, out of trouble and ready to go in the morning.

He has been a great addition to the tour so far. And plans on staying for the entire tour.

Michelle DeanAnother name you’ve all been dealing with is Michelle Dean. Michelle has helped me bring the business to new levels and has been able to free me up to take care of my students during my busy spring break season. I realize some of you didn’t know who she was when she started asking questions about my tour, but please be as responsive to her as you always are to me. I pass many projects her way to free me up.

We have also become dealers for Fly High and we're carrying product on the bus to sell to areas where there is not a dealer already selling their stuff. We are pushing Ballast & Pumps more than anything but are trying to educate our dealers as much as possible to all of our sponsors and what the have to offer.

No Fear is on board again and has stepped up our sponsorship considerably. We are once again carrying board shorts, which was our best seller last year. Thank you again for the long lasting relationship. It’s been 8 years now with No Fear.

OJ Props has also stepped up this year and added to our sponsorship to help with the over inflated Gas that is so fun to deal with. I’d go on strike if more than 2 people would give a crap! But until then I guess I’ll have to “Pay The Man”.

We have been testing a new larger prop for the 24 SSV. And so far I love it. Way better hole shot and seems to hold speed a lot better.

BoatsSpeaking of the boat. By far the best boat we’ve ever created. The 24 SSV is a matured wake machine now on it’s 3rd year.
My favorite part of the last 11 years with Skiers Choice is being able to use ideas and R&D stuff that makes our boat so amazing to spend 8 hours a day in.

We are constantly testing and improving things that the average Joe wouldn’t think needs improvement. But my Supra gets more use than anyone of our boats per year. And when my Supra survives the test, it’s indestructible.

Boatmate also stepped up their sponsor dollars this year and pimped me out with another amazing custom trailer to haul my Grocery getter around. Owen has mentioned they may have to build a custom shop at some point to handle all the requests from people that see my rig.

Wake SurfCWB is back as well, we are carrying a ton of product from them as well as Proline, SWS. We’ve come a long way since 1992 huh Gordy?!

I’ve even stepped up to the new Bindings. Yup, Believe it or not I’ve retired the 04 Zeus’. (I know I’m such a sell out). But after riding the 08 Zeus bindings with a closed toe, I can’t believe the difference and support I’m getting. I may get another 10 years out of these knees now!!.

Indmar has also stayed with the tour. To my surprise my new contact is an Old friend, which, if I hadn’t of met in 1987 probably wouldn’t be sitting here typing this.
Scott Clack, ex Cypress Gardens Skier and Freestyle extraordinaire, took me under his wing when I started at Cypress Gardens and now is heading up marketing with Indmar.

There are few people in this industry that have made more of an impact to Waterskiing than Scott. He will be a huge asset to the industry. I’m just happy he never dove into Wakeboarding so the rest of us could have a chance.

Also Sirius has set us up once again with a subscription for both the Bus and the Boat. Thanks you Jeff for helping us out with this. That is the one thing we love and let everyone know it. It’s fun to show up year after year and see more people that have added it to their boat since they spent a day in mine.

More BoatsWow, this is getting long. But, on to the tour.

We left on May 1st. and headed to our first stop at Carolina Inboards. We had our first trial clinic with them last year as we combined them with our stop in Augusta, GA. We parked the bus at their shop, which is located on Lake Murray, just outside of Columbia, S.C.
What an amazing location. This being their first, full year, in business our tour attendance was a little low. But we stirred the pot up well and should be all set for next year. Mike has already sold 16 boats, which is pretty good for a new dealer in my book.

BusOur second stop brought us to Knoxville Watersports, which is where I’m typing from as we speak. We have had 2 full days so far and may have already converted a Tige’ owner to a new 24 SSV. We have another full day tomorrow. Kim has done an amazing job with her organization of the clinic and it’s running smooth.

We have 28 stops booked this summer and are on # 2 right now. Hold on tight it’s gonna be a fun ride.

Talk to you soon,

Briscoe
